Contexting

Privacy

Last updated 5 November 2026

This page covers the contexting.app website and its waitlist. The Contexting app itself is local-first: your captures are files on your own devices, and we will publish the app's own privacy details before it launches.

Who we are

Contexting Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI745104), is responsible for the data described here. Contact us at hello@contexting.app.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, the date you signed up, which form you used, and the country your request came from (as reported by our host). That's all. The site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics scripts. Your light or dark mode choice is remembered in your own browser only.

Why, and on what basis

We use your email address only to tell you when Contexting is available, and occasionally about the launch itself. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.

Where it's stored

The site and the waitlist are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the data on our behalf. We don't sell or share your email address with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Until the app launches and we've told you, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@contexting.app. Every launch email will also include a way to unsubscribe. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
